From a brittle bundle of flax longing to become eternal lace (Heritage Day) to a rusty birdcage refusing to be a barred home. Experience social media funnels made tangible. Your voice and message are analysed and grouped with past visitors who sound like you. The Machine keeps the conversation going by letting you hear the voices of those previous visitors, revealing how groupthink forms.
Our Inaugural Year
In our first year, we exhibited at gallery Ommery in Ghent (BE) during the G.AN.D.A. Art Route, at the Engelse Kerk in Middelburg (NL), welcomed 15 000 visitors at Wonder Festival in Kortrijk (BE), and brought a digital layer to the Kant In Vlaanderen Heritage Day exhibition in Diest (BE).
Our installations included 001 | Echo Chamber, which makes groupthink tangible through interaction, 003 | In Perfect Place, sculptural panels that spark recognition as visitors discover their own pivotal life moments in colour and form, and 004 | Vessel & Void, an audio-visual work that interviews objects, uncovering the dreams and stories they silently hold.
