Our AI Manifesto

We embrace AI as a tool for acceleration, exploration, and learning. It acts as a tireless specialist, available at any moment. Yet we remain critical and responsible, knowing it lacks lived experience, intuition, and may reflect errors or bias.

What matters most:

At Sfæ,
AI is our assistant, not the author.
Everything starts with our vision, our thoughts, and our creative direction.
We decide when to use the AI-output and when not to.
The final call is always human.
The final call is always ours.

AI lets us do things that simply were not possible a few years ago. That is exciting. Yet we are intentional about how we use it, and we want to be transparent with you about the when and the why.

Where We Use AI

  • Code & Development:
AI helps us write cleaner code and debug faster. It is a productivity multiplier that lets us focus on solving real problems instead of syntax.
  • Writing:
AI helps us frame ideas more clearly. We always start from our own thoughts and use AI to help polish them.
  • Visual Exploration:
AI-generated images help us prototype ideas and explore visual directions before creating the actual work.
  • Learning:
AI makes learning new skills more accessible. It acts as a patient tutor who can explain complex concepts in different ways until we understand them.

AI-Generated Images: When We Label Them

You will see “AI Generated” labels on some images throughout our site. Here are our rules.

We label AI images when:

  • The image shows an artwork, object, or product we designed, but the image itself is a generated visualisation.
  • Why?
Because AI can make things look real when they are not. An AI visualisation might miss a specific detail, texture, or alter the dimensions of an object. If you are looking at our work, you deserve to know whether you are seeing a photo of the finished piece or a generated approximation. It is like labelling a 3D render.
  • But why show them at all?
Because we want to show you the vision, not just the current reality. Sometimes we cannot physically place an artwork in a specific environment yet, or the object is still in the concept phase. AI allows us to bridge that gap. It lets us visualise the idea and share the dream with you, showing you exactly how we envision the final result.

We do not label AI images when:

  • They are purely for mood, atmosphere, or decoration.
  • They do not claim to show actual artworks.
  • They are obviously stylised or abstract.
  • Why?
We view AI as a creative tool, not a secret. However, the method used to create an image does not always need to be stamped on the front. If an image serves purely to set a mood and creates no false expectations about a product or service, we treat it like any other illustration. If it does not affect our relationship or the truth of what we offer, we choose not to clutter the visual experience with labels.

Our Commitments

  • Human-First, Always:
Every creative decision is made by a human. AI suggests, but we decide. Our vision drives the work.
  • Data Privacy:
We never input confidential client data or trade secrets into public AI models. Your intellectual property remains safe with us.
  • Accountability:
We do not hide behind the algorithm. We verify important information, test code thoroughly, and never blindly trust generated output. If there is an error, we take responsibility for it.
  • Quality Over Speed:
AI makes us faster, but we will not sacrifice quality for convenience. We review and refine everything to meet our standards.
  • Respect for Craft:
AI extends our capabilities but does not replace craftsmanship. The making, the thinking, and the problem-solving remain ours.

Questions?

If you are curious about how we used AI for a specific project, or if you have concerns about AI-generated content on our site, please ask. We are happy to talk about it.
