008 | Facade (mini)

Description

Facade presents a surface of perfect calm: smooth, uniform, and controlled. But it’s far from the aligned flat white surface we would expect in this situation. Each part sits on another level, stable only in thought. Beneath the stillness lies distortion: truths withheld, signals dulled, intentions blurred. This work asks how much we ignore when comfort replaces truth.

(In the larger editions of Facade / The Order of Disguise, the cubes are finished in Musou Black. For all Mini editions, the cubes are printed directly in their intended filament colors rather than painted. As a result, the surface finish of the black cubes in the Facade Mini is unpainted black PLA.)

The miniatures from In Perfect Place let you experience the stages of belonging in pocket size. Measuring 7 × 7 cm, with heights ranging from 2 to 7 cm depending on the edition, they can be placed on a wall, hung with a nail or magnetically, or simply rest on your desk as a quiet, continuous reminder to move forward.

Each miniature can serve as a personal anchor: to pause, focus, make choices, or simply accept that ça va is perfectly fine for now. They also make a thoughtful gift for someone embarking on a new direction, having made life-changing decisions, or marking a transition such as moving, graduating, changing roles, or shifting perspective.

The cubes and frame are 3D printed with PLA, the translucent bars in PETG. No surface treatments are added. The material itself defines the colour, texture, and presence of each piece. Each piece comes with its explanation inside the box and is fully assembled by the artists, ready to be displayed or gifted, making it easy to give it a meaningful place in daily life.
